high tea @ the boxwood cafe

boxwood cafe @ the london hotel, weho.

i went without much expectations, because i’ve heard mixed reviews of gordon ramsay’s establishment @ the london since his exit.

the location and decor is simple and elegant, with some modern touches.

the boxwood afternoon tea set of savories and sweets is well balanced, and all delicious.

the savories are some of the best i’ve had in an afternoon tea set.. a must try for high tea aficionados.

scones with jam and cream. not bad, not exceptional.

the sweets! i was a bit too busy chatting.. and too full to really enjoy these.. but take note that the macaron is ice cream filled. YUM.

will def revisit for tea.

shanghai: afternoon tea @ the pudong Ritz

high tea at the ritz is something i try to have in every major city i visit..

this week we visited the new ritz carlton in pudong, shanghai. on the 52nd floor, sitting above the newly opened IFC mall + apple store, the Aura lounge has great view of the bund. of course there was some smog, but today there was plenty of sunshine as well.

the sweets combined. a mix of the aura tea set, and the ritz tea set.

my favorite was the lemon tarte.

two servings of the house savories. the cucumber finger sandwiches + smoked salmon were the best.

the sweets set my friend ordered, comes with 3 pcs of your choice, and tea/coffee.

love high tea @ the ritz! it never fails.
