Clinton St. Baking Co and Restaurant

22 Sep

brunch in nyc @ clinton st baking co this past weekend.

a hotspot for brunch.. the wait was… 90 minutes! there were parties ( some locals, some tourists) lined up and down the sidewalk patiently waiting their turn.. i normally would not wait this long for brunch, but it was recommended.. and we didn’t really have anything to rush to.. so we did.

biscuit sandwich. their biscuits are really good- flaky buttery crust and soft inside. a bit crumbly, like a good biscuit should be!

Belgium waffle with stewed plums. fluffy, sweet and tart. a great balance of texture and flavor.

potato pancake with applesauce and sour cream. yuM.

i don’t think i would wait that long for brunch again, but everything we ordered was good!!

brunch @ southern kitChen in dt los gatos, caLi.

worth the long wait! no reservations for smaller parties.. sO, we shopped around dtlg for about 40 minutes before we were seated.

comfort southern style food. ( think grits, chicken fried steak, fried green tomatoes..) but what we came for, was the brunch food. we had read amazing reviews on the french toast- and they did not disappoint!

spicy linguista sausage with hash browns and over easy eggs. the sausage was sOo good. full of spices and flavor. ( cornbread not pictured.)

apricot french toast. the apricot compote was folded into the toast, topped with glaze and syrup. sweet and fluffy. giNormous portion.

my favorite. banana french toast. the ripe bananas were fried and carmelized, the fluffy toast was cut thinner, glazed a bit, and topped with delicious maple syrup. i could only eat half the plate.. the carb entrees are very share-abLe.

will def be returning!
